This Privacy Statement indicates the practices of ACOKnowledge (Knowledge Academy online) regarding the collection, use, disclosure of certain information, including the personal information of the User by ACOKnowledge.

The user is responsible for the processing of personal information of the User, which also provides the service to the User. If you contact us in order to obtain assistance, for your security and for the security of ACOKnowledge, it may be necessary to authenticate your identity before proceeding with your request.
Gathering Information
ACOKnowledge receives and stores information about the User, such as, for example:
- Information provided by the User: ACOKnowledge collects the information that the User provides to ACOKnowledge, including:
- name, e-mail address, address or postal code, form of payment and telephone number. ACOKnowledge collects this information in a number of ways, including when you enter it in the course of using the ACOKnowledge service, by interacting with our customer service or by participating in marketing inquiries or promotions; and
- information collected when you submit reviews or indicate ratings, personal preferences, account settings, set preferences in the “Account” area or otherwise provide information to ACOKnowledge through our service or other means
- Information that is automatically collected by ACOKnowledge: ACOKnowledge collects information about the User and about their use of our service, their interactions with ACOKnowledge and our advertising, as well such as information about the computer or device that you use to access the service (such as computers and mobile devices). This information includes:
- User activity in the ACOKnowledge service, such as title selections, viewing history, and searches;
- the details of the user’s interactions with customer service, such as date, time and reason for the contact, transcripts of chat conversations and telephone number, if the User contacts ACOKnowledge;
- device IDs or other unique identifiers;
- advertising identifiers, such as those on mobile devices, tablets, and streaming media devices that include such identifiers (see the “Cookies and Internet Advertising” section below for more information);
- device and software characteristics (such as type and configuration), connection information, statistics on page views, referring source (for example, referral URLs), IP address (which may tell us your general location), browser and standard web server log information;
- Information collected through the use of cookies, web beacons, and other technologies, including advertising data (such as data information recorded in cookies, the URL of the site on which the data was recorded, as well as the date and time). - Information from other sources: We also obtain information from other sources. We protect this information according to the practices described in this Privacy Statement, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data. These sources vary over time, but could include:
- service providers that help us determine a location based on your IP address in order to customize our service and for other uses consistent with this Privacy Statement;
- select partners that make our service available on their device or with which we offer co-branded services or engage in joint marketing activities;
- payment service providers who provide us with updated payment method information based on their relationship with you;
- online and offline data providers, from which we obtain demographic, interest based and online advertising related data;
- publicly-available sources such as open government databases.
Use of Information
We use the information collected to provide, analyze, administer, improve and personalize our services and marketing efforts, to process the User’s registration, requests and payments, as well as to communicate with the User about these and other matters. For example, ACOKnowledge uses the information collected for:
- to determine the general geographical location of the User, to provide localized content, to indicate personalized recommendations of contents that we consider to be of interest, to determine the User’s Internet service provider and to help ACOKnowledge to respond quickly and efficiently to questions and requests;
- prevent, detect and investigate potentially illegal or prohibited activities, including fraud, and to enforce our terms (such as determining eligibility for free use);
- analyze and get to know our audience; improve our service (including the user interface), provide optimization, content selection and recommendation algorithms;
- communicate with you concerning our service (for example by email, push notifications text messaging, and online messaging channels), so that we can send you news about ACOKnowledge, details about new features and content available on ACOKnowledge, and special offers, promotional announcements, and consumer surveys, and to assist you with operational requests such as password reset requests. Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Statement will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect and use it. We will normally collect personal information from you where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you (for example, to provide our services to you), where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms (for example, our direct marketing activities in accordance with your preferences), or where we have your consent to do so (for example, for you to participate in certain consumer insights activities like specific surveys and focus groups). In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you or may otherwise need the personal information to protect your vital interests or those of another person (for example, to prevent payment fraud or confirm your identity). Information Disclosure
Your information is disclosed to third parties and for certain purposes, as described below:
- Business transfers: ACOKnowledge will transfer information, including personal information, as long as it does not include any of the following: Under any reorganization, restructuring, merger or sale, the receiving entity agrees to respect User’s personal information in a manner consistent with the Privacy Statement of ACOKnowledge.
Whenever, during the sharing of information, ACOKnowledge transmits personal information to countries outside the European Economic Area and to other regions with strict data protection laws, ACOKnowledge guarantees that the information is transmitted in accordance with this Privacy Statement and as permitted by applicable data protection laws.
The User may also disclose his information in the following ways:
- While using the ACOKnowledge service, you will have the opportunity to publish criticism or other information publicly and the information you disclose may be used by third parties;
- Certain parts of our service may contain a tool that allows you to share information via email and in social networking applications or other sharing applications, using clients and applications on the User’s smart device;
- Social plug-ins (including those made available by Facebook, Linkedin, and Google) allow you to share information on those platforms.
Social plug-ins and social networking applications are operated by social networks themselves and are subject to their terms of use and privacy policies.
Account Access and User Profiles
In order to make it easier for you to access your account and to help manage the ACOKnowledge service, we have implemented technology that allows you to recognize the User as the account holder and to give you access to your account without having to re-enter passwords or other user IDs, when the user re-accesses the ACOKnowledge service. You may choose not to use this feature on your computer by unchecking the “Remember Me” box when you log in to the site. To remove access to your device account from the devices delete the settings from your device (steps vary by device and option is not available on all devices). Whenever possible, users of public or shared devices must log off at the end of each access. If you sell or return a computer or device that is compatible with ACOKnowledge, you must log off and deactivate the device before doing so. If the User does not maintain the security of the password or the device, or if you do not sign out or disable the device, the following users may access the account, including the User’s personal information.
If you share or otherwise allow third-party access to your account, they may view your information, including in some cases personal information such as viewing history, ratings, reviews, and account information (including the User’s email address or other information in the “Account” area). The same is applicable when the User uses the profiles feature.
Profiles allow different members of your household to have a distinctive, customized ACOKnowledge experience based on their preferred content, such as personalized recommendations and separate viewing histories. Please note that profiles are made freely available to all users of the User’s ACOKnowledge account, so any user with access to the ACOKnowledge account can browse, use, edit and delete any profile. The User must indicate this information to other users with access to the account and if he does not want his profile to be used or updated, he should clearly transmit this information.
User Options
Email. If the User wishes to stop receiving certain communications from ACOKnowledge through e-mail, simply click the “Unsubscribe from this list” link in the email. Note that you can not cancel certain E-mail communications from ACOKnowledge, such as transaction-related messages of your account.
Interest-Based Ads. Interest-based ads are online ads that are tailored to your likely interests based on your use of various apps and websites across the Internet. If you are using a browser, then cookies and web beacons can be used to collect information to help determine your likely interests. If you are using a mobile device, tablet, or streaming media device that includes an advertising identifier, then that identifier can be used to help determine your likely interests. For your choices about interest-based ads from ACOKnowledge, please see the “Cookies and Internet Advertising” section (below).
User Rights
The User may request access to your personal information or correct or update personal information that is inaccurate or outdated in ACOKnowledge. To do so, you only need to access the “Account” section of the ACOKnowledge website, where you can check and update various information about the User account, including contact information, payment information and various account related information (such as the User’s personal preferences, viewed and ranked content, and submitted reviews). You need to be signed in to access the “Account” section. Please also refer to the User Options section of this Privacy Statement for additional options regarding User information.
The User may also ask ACOKnowledge to delete their personal information if it is no longer necessary to provide the service to the User for billing, registration or other legitimate reasons. To do so, or if the User has other questions about the privacy policies, please contact us at support@acoknowledge.org.
Security
We believe that ACOKnowledge uses reasonable administrative, logical, physical and management measures to protect the User’s personal information from loss, theft and unauthorized access, use and modification. Unfortunately, there are no measures that can guarantee 100% safety. As such, ACOKnowledge can not guarantee the security of the User information.
Other Sites, Platforms and Applications
The ACOKnowledge service can be provided through platforms or contain links to sites operated by third parties, whose policies regarding the handling of information may differ from those of ACOKnowledge policies. For example, the User may access the ACOKnowledge service through platforms such as game consoles, Smart TVs, mobile devices, set-top boxes and other devices connected to the Internet. These sites and platforms have independent and separate privacy and data policies, privacy statements, notices, and terms of service, for which we recommend careful reading. Additionally, you may find applications from other vendors that interact with the ACOKnowledge service.
Underage
You must be of legal age to subscribe to the ACOKnowledge service. In certain jurisdictions, the legal age to attain the age of majority may be more than 18 years, in which case, the User must meet this requirement to be a member. Although the service may be used by persons under the age of 18, such use is only possible with parental involvement, supervision and approval or legal guardian.
Changes to the Present Privacy Statement
ACOKnowledge will update this Privacy Statement from time to time in response to changes in legal, regulatory or operational requirements. ACOKnowledge will notify the existence of such changes (including the date of their entry into force) in accordance with the law. The continued use of the ACOKnowledge service after the entry into force of any updates constitutes acceptance thereof. If you do not accept the updates to this Privacy Statement, you may cancel the ACOKnowledge service. Cookies and Internet Advertising
ACOKnowledge, as well as our Service Providers. uses cookies and other technologies (such as “web beacons”) for several reasons. For example, we use cookies and other technologies to facilitate access to our services, telling the User when to re-access, to provide and analyze our services, to obtain information about our users and their likely interests, and to provide and personalize marketing or advertising. ACOKnowledge intends that the User is aware of the use of such technologies and therefore this notice indicates the types of technologies used, their functions and the User’s options regarding their use.
- What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files, usually stored on your device when you browse and use online sites and services. - Cookies of performance and functionality: These cookies are not essential, but they allow us to customize and enhance the online experience with ACOKnowledge. For example, with these cookies we can memorize the preferences of the User, it is no longer necessary to re-enter information already provided (for example, at the login). On the other hand, ACOKnowledge uses these cookies to collect information (such as popular pages, conversion rates, viewing patterns, click information and other data) about the use of visitors to the ACOKnowledge service, allowing us to improve and customize our website and service and carry out market research. The elimination of this type of cookies limits the functionality of our service.
- Advertising cookies and advertising identifiers: These cookies and advertising identifiers use information about your use of this and other websites and apps, your response to ads and emails, and to deliver ads that are more relevant to you. These types of ads are called “interest-based advertising.” Many of the advertising cookies associated with our service belong to our Service Providers.

- How does ACOKnowledge use Web Beacons and other technologies?
Web beacons (also called “clear gifs” or “pixel tags”) usually work in conjunction with cookies. ACOKnowledge, as well as our Service Providers, may use cookies in a similar way as, for example, understanding and optimizing service utilization, improving site performance, monitoring visitor traffic and actions on the site. our site and learn about interactions with our marketing (including emails and online ads on third-party sites). As web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies, in many cases, rejecting the use of cookies will affect the effectiveness of web beacons.
We use other cookie-like technologies, such as browser storage and plug-ins (for example, HTML5, IndexedDB and WebSQL). Like cookies, some of these technologies can write small amounts of data to your device. We may use these and various other technologies for purposes similar to cookies, such as enforcing our terms, preventing fraud, and analyzing the use of the service.
